WILL POWER

cakeDo you know we have a common friend?
His name it is Will Power;
We can always call on him for help
Any time, any day, any hour.

But mysteriously at Christmas time
Will Power, well he decides to take a break.
Where, oh where is he when we find ourselves
Reaching out for yet another piece of cake?

When Christmas shops entice us in
With all their wondrous gifts on show,
How tempting to keep spending
Without hearing Will say ‘No’.

But Will Power we will forgive you
And even thank you for these days
When we can live without chastisement
And just go our own sweet ways.

But please make sure that you return
And come back twice as strong;
Otherwise, dear Will, our New Year resolutions
Won’t be lasting very long.
