JUNIOR CHURCH AT ST MARY'S
We believe that children should be able to access teaching that is relevant to them, that's why at both of our churches children have their own junior church, which teaches the Christian faith in a fun relevant way.
At St Mary's we regularly welcome around 50 children on a Sunday morning. Those in Primary School meet as one big Junior Church family in the hall where our Children's Pastor leads a fun, interactive session including games, stories and worship, followed by small group activities tailored to each age group.
Our Tiddlers group (age 0-4) meet together in the Oak Room for a Stay and Play session. The morning service is livestreamed into this room so parents can still hear the message and times of worship.
In order to make the teaching and activities relevant for each age group we split into 5 Junior Church groups:
Tiddlers: Stay and Play Session for pre-school children aged 0-4 & their parent/carer.
Little Fishes: For children in school Reception class
Starfishes: For children in school years 1 and 2
Stingrays: For school years 3 and 4
Sharks: For school years 5 and 6
Year 6 move up to Fuel from June 2024.
All children who regularly attend Junior Church need to
register either in advance on on the day through our new tablet system.
