The Heartbeat café, at the heart of our church in the church centre: a place for regulars to meet and socialize over a drink and something to eat; also a place for the wider community to visit, Christians and non-Christians; to meet new friends, discover new things and be welcomed. It will be great to get to know you all.
This role as Heartbeat café manager is an exciting challenge for me and my new team. With God’s love and the church’s support we will continue the vision that Jayne, the previous café manager, and others had 10 years ago. I am looking forward to working with a new group of volunteers and learning new skills and ideas from each other.
I come from a background of working as a Teaching Assistant at St Mary’s primary school and Butterflies Pre-school as well as bringing up my own 4, now grown-up children. Within the church I currently co-ordinate and lead Starfish, one of the Junior Church groups, and have done for the past 17 years.
My vision is to help the café to grow and be the heartbeat of the church and its community.
The café will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 1pm with the aim to open more days.
The recent drop-in mornings to recruit volunteers were successful; however more volunteers are still required. If you are interested, please let me know.
The Heartbeat café looks forward to welcoming you all.
Cathy Snowdon, Heartbeat Café Manger
