YOUR BISH LIST

BishListThe Church of England is looking to appoint the next Bishop of Chester, and the committee responsible is seeking your views on who that person should be and the qualities he or she should have.

The on-line survey to gather opinion is now closed; however there is still time to attend the public meeting, taking place on Wednesday 25 September, 7.15pm - 8.45pm at St John's Church, Hartford.

You can also write to the appointments secretaries by 30th September if you would like to comment on the needs of the diocese or the wider church, or would like to propose candidates. Writing to the appointments secretaries will feed directly into the wider consultation conducted by the Crown Nominations Commission, the body that will ultimately decide who will be the next Bishop of Chester.

A prayer for the Diocese
Almighty God,
who sent Jesus Christ
to be the cornerstone of your Kingdom
and to call us to follow him.
We thank you for Bishop Peter,
for his faithful service in building your Kingdom in the Diocese of Chester.
Guide your Church, by the Holy Spirit,
to show love and mercy as we build your Kingdom.
We pray for the person you are calling to be the next Bishop of Chester;
bless, guide and strengthen them to answer your call;
in the name of Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
