Church and School Links

We have strong links with the school, the Headteacher and Vicar meet regularly to discuss school and church life to ensure the strong relationships are maintained.

Our links include the following teaching sessions and activities in the school:
  • Worship time - each week we lead the children in worship time, which includes worship songs, a film clip, games, an interactive talk and a memory verse.
  • Play time - we have the privilege of spending the break time in the playgroup with the children, this is a great opportunity to get to know the children better.
  • Sparks - We run a weekly lunchtime club for children in years 2 & 3 which includes games, worship, crafts, Christian message and creative prayer. Find out more by visiting the Sparks page.
  • Prayer space - We run a weekly prayer space during lunchtime for children to create, draw and write prayers of thanks, sorry, help or praise.
  • Workshops and themed lessons - Throughout the year we deliver one-off workshops or lessons that fit with the school curriculum. Previous sessions have been led on worship, anti-bullying and transition (moving up to secondary school).

Day School Sunday

Each year we have a Sunday morning service which is led by the staff and pupils from the school.  This is a tradition which dates back to the founding of the school, where the pupils of the Day School (as opposed to the Sunday School) would lead the church service, it's a wonderful opportunity for us to worship together.
