Vacancy for a Foundation Governor

St Mary's CE Primary School require a volunteer Foundation Governor from 1st February 2021 for an initial 4 year term of office.  The closing date for applications is Monday 14th December 2020.  See the bottom of the page for details on how to apply.

Ideally they are looking for someone with knowledge or experience of legal, health services or premises and facilities management.

You do not need to have a child at the school in order to apply for this position, however you will need to satisfy the requirements below and be available to attend the termly Full Board Meetings and Committee Meetings as required.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to uphold and develop the Christian Foundation of the school
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have time to commit to the role
  • Have an ability to ask questions whilst working with others to ensure the best outcomes for the children

School Governors do not need to be educational experts. The experience of people from many walks of life can make a valuable contribution to the work of the school. Following a skills audit of the existing Board, it is desirable, but not essential, for the successful candidate to have knowledge / experience of: legal, health services or premises and facilities management.
