Easter Story Trail
7 April - 22 April
For two weeks all are welcome to come and follow the Easter Story Trail, an interactive story trail, produced by Go Chatter, to help children, young people and adults experience the Easter gospel.
From Monday 7th until Tuesday 22nd April, there will be 5 posters around the exterior of St Mary’s church building for you and your family to find. Each poster displays a different character from the Easter Story; Peter, Pilate, The Centurion, Mary Magdalene and an Angel.
How does the Easter Story Trail work?
-
Each poster has the same QR code on it, find the first poster of Peter and scan the QR code.
-
It will download a little bit of software onto your phone.
-
Then (and this is the clever bit!) hover your smartphone over the picture with the red dotted lines on each of the posters to watch the Easter story come to life in augmented reality.
-
The character on that poster will tell you who you need to look for next.
-
Keep going until you have found all five characters!

Alive! Schools Week
23-25 April
This year our Children and Youth Team will be welcoming 300 pupils into our church for an Easter experience.
Children from schools around the Parish have been invited to experience the Easter story by hearing four stories of the resurrection. Church will be transformed into a walk-around experience where children will encounter Mary in the garden, Cleopas on the road to Emmaus, the disciples on a beach, and Thomas in the Upper Room, and throughout the experience will hear the gospel told through each character's own resurrection story.
