A PLACE TO ASK SOME DIFFICULT QUESTIONS

freedom

The “Freedom” course was surely the most important landmark of my autumn 2018. The course ran on Tuesday evenings for 8 weeks over October and November. The meetings were the highlight of the week, which I did not want to miss even after long hours of work.

The course has been designed by Jane and initially inspired by “Freedom in Christ”. This is, however a very different course now.

I can recommend it to anybody who wants to stop and think a bit about life, God, themselves, freedom and joy.

Each session was very inspiring and thought-provoking. Jane and Ian did some talking and a short presentation but the course was super-interactive. There was plenty of time to talk and discuss the challenging questions we were given.

The topics of the sessions were superb. We started from “Who am I?” talking about our identity and where we get it from, then looked at “The Father’s heart” grasping the need to feel and sense God, his love, joy and affection. Then came fascinating topics on making decisions; soul and spirit; emotional cup; relational needs and forgiveness.

There was a lovely family feel during the course. About 10 people were taking part so it was very comfortable to share and chat in such a small group. The soft sofas in the Cedar room at the back of the church added to the comfort. As our meetings were on the same evening as the Alpha Course there was an extra bonus of amazing desserts, which we could enjoy.

The course allowed me to look into my own heart, ask some difficult questions but most of all discover more about God, enjoy his presence and love and share it with others.

Don’t miss the course when it comes again!
