SILENT DISCO LIGHT PARTY!

light party 2It’s time to don your disco-dancing shoes for this year’s Light Party!

On Thursday 31st October, we will be teaming up with Life Church here at St Mary’s Church to host a fun-packed evening to celebrate God’s light. This is a very popular event for 0-11 year olds and their families and as you may have guessed, this year’s theme is D.I.S.C.O! Both children and adults are welcome to get dressed up in their disco-dancing gear – anything bright and colourful! (No Hallowe’en costumes please).

There’ll be something for everyone with a silent disco, craft activities, chill-out zones, inflatable football nets, glow face paints, a bouncy castle and the return of glow-in-the-dark pumpkin bowling! The party will draw to a close at 7pm when we’ll gather in church for our light parade.

Tea, coffee and cake will be available throughout the event in the café area for the adults as well as drinks, cakes and hot-dogs for the children.

It will be a light, bright, party atmosphere where the children can have LOTS of fun, collect sweets at the different activities and celebrate together. As this is a joint event it would be great if you could sign up online at www.stmarysaom.org/lightparty so we can cater for the event.

Doors open at 5:30pm for a 5.45pm start. The children will receive a party bag, glow stick, sweets and refreshments.

To help fund the event we are asking for a suggested £3 donation per child if possible. This helps us cover the cost of the disco hire, activities and refreshments.

We have lots of families with young children who attend this event so it’s often not possible for parents to help on the night. If you are able to volunteer for an activity or bake/ buy cakes please email Julie at childrens.pastor@stmarysaom.org or use the volunteer sign-up sheet in St. Mary’s church foyer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please pray for a great event!

Julie Loynd, Children’s Pastor
