ABSURDLY BUSY... TOO BUSY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD?

proverbs“All the issues of life flow forth like rivers from one location – the heart – and what we do in stewarding that one place determines the outcome of our lives.” Bill Johnson

Apparently, the Latin word for not listening is ‘surdus’. If you are not listening, that is where the word ‘absurd’ comes from. The opposite of a living a fruitful life based on listening is living an absurdly busy or driven one!

Jesus was probably as distracted as any other human being in his day could have been but it seems he learnt to pay his Father such deep attention that he heard his voice clearly, daily, and even in the midst of temptation and suffering.

He never doubted his Father’s love for him, or his call on his life, and he was able to make daily and moment by moment choices over priorities for life and ministry.

Such closeness of relationship and consequent fruitfulness of life and ministry is offered to us too…
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life” Proverbs 4:23
